- Cardiovascular Disease and Lifestyle
Cardiovascular Disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. In industrialized countries prevention and treatment has led to a reduction in disease burden. However, these gains are threatened by increasing inactivity, obesity, and associated epidemic of diabetes. In many emerging economies poor lifestyle changes associated with increasing socio-economic status are leading to increased burden of cardiovascular disease.
Another developing threat to cardiovascular health is the impact of Global Climate Change. Already climate change is affecting different aspect of health with a disproportionate burden on countries with lower economic development.
In the years ahead it is critical to address these issues in order to develop preventive measures, for both individuals and societies at large.
The journal Cardiovascular Diagnosis and Therapy encourages submissions related to these topics, including original data, health statistics, and public health discussions. Submissions from industrialized countries, emerging economies, and developing countries are welcome.
